Heart breathing meditation

Heart breathing meditation is particularly good for getting you out of a stress state and into a calm state. It is easy to use anywhere anytime and you can do it for 2 minutes or 20 minutes.

Bring to mind a memory that warms your heart. Something that feels good when you think of it. It can be something that’s happened to you, an experience, a shared moment or something that you imagine would feel wonderful.

Once you have the mental picture clear breathe the feeling that the picture generates in and out through your heart. Imagine that your heart is breathing in and out the peaceful, loving feeling that has been generated by the image that you have called to mind.

Feel your body relax and your mind calm as you continue to breathe in and out, as if through your heart. Feel your shoulders drop away from your ears, feel your tummy muscles relax and your face soften. Feel your jaw relax and your tongue come to rest in your mouth.

Keep breathing this feeling in and out through your heart until you feel complete. Bring your awareness back to your surroundings and gently blink open your eyes.
